What does the PTO do for the school?

Ross Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) supports our teachers, students, and school family in a variety of ways. We begin our work with the Back to School Social in August and end the year with Field Day in May, but we have many other events, upgrades, and initiatives in between.

The PTO is responsible for funding all playground upgrades and purchasing all hands-on activity equipment used during recess. The organization also covers all costs associated with special days throughout the year like Author’s Day, school assemblies, family movie night and Book Bingo. Some other actions made possible by the PTO include teacher appreciation events, yearbooks, school directories, clubs, and funding field trip transportation for the more than 500 students currently enrolled in Ross.

Our primary focus for this year will be working to update our playground by making the area and equipment more accessible to all students.
